ICFAI University Jharkhand (IUJ) released Placement Brochure for its MBA students of 2010-12 class, at a function held at its Ashok Nagar Campus, today. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dhirendra Kumar, Chief Guest and the Special Secretary and Director, Handicraft, Silk and Handlooms, Government of Jharkhand exhorted the students that right attitude and skills are critical for success in careers. Mr. Dhirendra Kumar narrated the success story of Jharkrafts, starting from a small beginning.
Explaining the current trends in job market, Prof. O.R.S. Rao, Vice- Chancellor of the University, mentioned that a number of large /medium companies in sectors like Banking, Finance and Insurance, IT/ITES and Retail are offering a number of jobs to fresh MBAs in functions like Marketing, Finance and HR. He advised the graduating students to choose the jobs that offer opportunity for good learning, rather than only compensation.
Addressing the gathering, Dr B.M. Singh, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies said, “Internship programs arranged by IUJ in Industry gave an excellent opportunity to the students to build hands-on skills. Besides, the University has been conducting Managerial Skill Development Programs to enhance the employability of the students”. Elaborating the efforts by the University with regard to Industry interface and Placement of the students, Brig S.K. Deb, Registrar of the University mentioned that a Placement Committee was constituted to plan for placement activities, which includes Placement Manager and select faculty members as well as student representatives.
