Ms Priyanka Priyadarshani
Ph.D Scholar of the University , received the best poster award at the 104th Indian Science Congress , held at SV University Tirupati from 3rd to 7th January 2017. The award was handed over by the Honourable Governor of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, Mr. C. Vidyasagar Rao. The Union State minister for Science and Technology, Mr. Y.S. Choudhary was also present along with other dignitaries. Her poster was selected from more than 100 entries received in the Environmental Sciences section. Ms Priyanka’s paper was titled "Measuring Carbon Footprint Impacts of Microfinance: An Empirical Study of Deoghar District, Jharkhand". The paper was a novel attempt to connect two different but important fields namely Microfinance and Environmental sciences to measure the impact of cabon footprint by the Microfinance loanees economic activities.
Mr Varun Prakash, Ph.D Student of the University received Second Prize at the ESRI User Conference held at Hotel Leela Ambience, Delhi on 19th and 20th January 2017. The award was given to him for his work on management of Geographic Information System (GIS) Technology at Reliance Energy . His entry was selected from more than 70 entries received in the Conference.
