ICFAI University Jharkhand supplements its teaching resources by inviting eminent professionals from the diverse industry sectors like Management Consulting, Banking, Financial Services, Manufacturing, IT & ITES etc to share their insights and to provide its students exposure to emerging trends as well as the expectations of industry and business from time to time.

Guest lectures play an important role in the developmental process of the students. Eminent academicians and practising professionals are invited for guest lectures where students get an opportunity to interact closely with them and understand the practical applictions of various management and information technology concepts and ideas. Through these activities, students get acquainted with leadership roles, develop group and interpersonal skills and develop the right kind of attitude for success in their careers.

Corporate Talk on Financial Awareness and Career Opportunities in Capital Market

  • The 5th Corporate talk was organized by ICFAI University Jharkhand on “Financial Awareness and Career Opportunities in Capital Market” by Mohammad Shahid, Chartered Accountant, AGM, SEBI.
  • While addressing the students and faculty members, Mohammad Shahid discussed about the various fields in capital market such as SEBI, NSE, BSE, NSDL, CDSL and MF.
  • He highlighted about the employability skills required in the field, importance of saving and investment and source of safe returns. Moreover, he also emphasized the importance of awareness against financial frauds.
  • He also discussed about the skills required to pursue a career in capital markets such as postgraduate degree in finance, sound knowledge of financial market, good negotiation, communication and good listening skills.
  • He depicted the career options regarding capital market like relationship manager, stock broker, capital market consultant, portfolio manager and commercial bankers.

Corporate Talk on Career Opportunities in Digital Marketing

  • The 4th Corporate Talk was organized in Virtual Mode on “Digital Marketing: Key Skills, Competence and Career Opportunities” by Dr. Rishi Dwesar, Associate Professor, IBS Hyderabad.
  • Students and faculty members of the University attended the session.
  • Addressing the students and faculty members to the e-Corporate Lecture, Prof O R S Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the University said, “Today’s Marketing is mainly focused on Digital Platforms and is different from the traditional marketing that was experienced in earlier days.
  • This domain is now a major job provider to the young graduated students passing from the University and other educational institutions.
  • As a Techno-Managerial specialist, Prof. Rao also highlighted the use of search Engine optimizations and its application in real business.
  • While replying to some queries of the students, he advised them to undertake various certificate courses that are provided by many digital marketing companies in India which will build their confidence and provide a scope to join in this domain.
  • “In order to exploit these opportunities, students must be abreast with latest knowledge and scope of this sector”, added Prof Rao.
  • During the talk, Dr. Rishi Dwesar explained the digital marketing landscape which is interconnected by Publishers, Facilitators, Advertisers, Digital Marketing Agencies and the customers.
  • He also described the concept of ‘Internet Marketing Tree’, ‘Behavioral Targeting’ and how digital marketing works in the stiff competitive scenario.
  • He briefly lectured on the job opportunities in digital marketing area under in house, Agency side, Publishers and consulting.
  • He also advised the students to grab the job opportunities in this sector and to build the key skills required to succeed and manage in the long run.
  • He cited examples of Google, Facebook and other successful players in this domain and urged the students to understand and learn their digital marketing fundamentals.
  • Dr. Rishi Dwesar responded to a number of interesting questions and queries posed by the students and Faculty members of the University.

Corporate Talk on Building Career in the Development Sector

  • ICFAI University, Jharkhand organized the third Corporate Talk in Virtual Mode on “Building Career in the Development Sector”. Mr. Bishnu C. Parida, Chief Operating Officer, Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society, was the Corporate Speaker.
  • Students and faculty members of the University attended the session.
  • Addressing the students and faculty members to the e-Corporate Lecture, Prof O R S Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the University said, “development sector in India has a greater scope to pursue a career for the passing out young students of the University and other educational institutions.
  • He also highlighted that the career in development sector is possible only by one’s own will power, not by monetary transactions.
  • In this sector, the career opportunities are emerging for both technical and non-technical students.
  • Students from IT, Engineering and Management stream also join in this sector under various job roles.
  • “In order to exploit these opportunities, students must be abreast with latest knowledge and scope of this sector”, added Prof Rao.
  • During the lecture, Mr. Bishnu C. Parida explained the concept of development sector.
  • He also described various types of development sector that are being operating in India and how they have been benefiting the poor people of the society at-large.

  • A Corporate Lecture was organized by ICFAI University, Jharkhand in Virtual Mode on “Developments in Digital Banking and Career Opportunities and Challenges ”. Ms. Suchitra Maurya , General Manager , Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata was the Corporate Speaker.
  • Students and faculty members of the University attended the session.
  • Addressing the students and faculty members to the e-Corporate Lecture, Prof O R S Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the University said , “As Indian Banking Sector embraces cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Block-Chain, Business Analytics , Cyber Security and other Banking Technologies , huge career opportunities are emerging for fresh graduates of not only IT Programs ( like BCA,MCA,BTech-Computer Science) but also of non-IT programs like BBA, BCom ,BBA-LLB and MBA.”.
  • “In order to exploit these opportunities, students must be abreast with latest developments in the Digital Banking. Today’s Corporate Lecture was arranged with that objective”, added Prof Rao.
  • During the lecture, Ms. Suchitra Maurya explained the developments that have been taking place in deployment of latest technologies the all the areas of Banking and Payment Systems and how they have been benefiting the customers.
  • She also advised the students on the precautions to be taken , while using Internet Banking and ATMs. Ms. Maurya responded to a number of interesting questions and queries posed by the students.

Corporate Talk on “Corporate Governance”

  • ICFAI University Jharkhand organized a Corporate Talk on “Corporate Governance”.
  • The Key Speaker was Mr. Joydeep Mookerjee, Chief Finance Officer, Vision Rx Lab, Kolkata, a subsidiary unit of Essilor International S.A., a French Multi National Company dealing with Ophthalmic Optics.
  • All the faculty members and final year students of MBA, BBA and B.Com actively participated in the program.
  • Welcoming the participants to the first Corporate Talk, Prof. O.R.S. Rao, Vice Chancellor of the University said, “Good Corporate Governance is critical for short term sustenance and long term growth of Organizations.
  • All of us have seen real-life examples of how companies with poor Corporate Governance collapsed, whereas those with good governance performed well even during COVID-19 times”.
  • “As it is the honesty and integrity of the Individual Managers that make the difference, it is important that every one of the students imbibe those qualities”, Prof Rao added.
  • Explaining the fundamentals of Corporate Governance, Mr. Joydeep Mookerjee said, “Corporate Governance is the structure of rules, practices, and processes used to direct and manage a company.
  • Good corporate governance helps companies build trust with investors and the community.”
  • He highlighted the importance of Corporate Governance giving examples of how poor governance destroyed value of all the stakeholders of Enron and Satyam Computers.
  • “While Accountability, Transparency, Responsibility and fairness are the pillars of Corporate Governance, Core Values of Honesty and Integrity of the Senior Managers are important to deliver good governance.”, said Mr. Mookerjee.
