B.Tech. / B.Tech. (Lateral Entry) Program

  • The Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) Program is a four-year, eight-semester, full-time, campus-based program.
  • The Program provides cutting edge education to equip students with comprehensive and critical understanding in various branches of engineering.
  • Students who passed 3 year Diploma in Engineering are eligible for Lateral Entry (join 3rd semester of the program).
  • The B.Tech. at ICFAI Jharkhand is popular among students from Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro Steel City, Dhanbad, Deoghar, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Ramgarh, Medininagar, Chirkunda of Jharkhand state, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Nawada, Siwan of Bihar state. A small number of current batch students also come from Kolkata, Durgapur, Kharagpur, and Purulia of West Bengal state.

Written Test

Candidates for B.Tech Program have to appear for a Written Test, as per the University regulations. Date(s) and Place of the test will be communicated to the eligible candidates, later.

Award of Degree

Students who successfully complete the B.Tech Program will be awarded the 'Bachelor of Technology' Degree by the University subject to University regulations.

  • Pass in 10+2 with 45% and above aggregate marks or its equivalent with pass in each of the Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English subjects.
  • The applicant should fulfill the minimum age requirements as prescribed by the respective board through which the applicant has appeared for the qualifying examination.
  • Students awaiting examination results can also eligible to apply.

  • B.Tech (Lateral Entry):

    Pass in 3 year Diploma in the respective branch of engineering with at least 45% marks in aggregate. Students in their final year of diploma may also apply.

# For 10+2 students and 3 year full-time campus based program for diploma holders through lateral entry. Eligibile diploma holders will be admitted directly into the 2nd year of the B.Tech. program.

Caution Deposit:

  • Students are required to pay a Caution Deposit as mentioned in the table above along with the first semester fee.
  • It will be refunded without interest and after adjusting for dues, (if any), to the students on completion of the respective program.

Fee payments can be made in any of the following modes.

Any requests for withdrawals, refunds will be processed as per the prevailing UGC Notification, with regard to Refund of fees and non-retention of Original Certificates.

Merit Scholarships

Following are the details of the Merit Scholarships, offered by The ICFAI University, Jharkhand.

A. Merit Scholarships based on past academic record:
Percentage of marks achieved in qualifying examination will decide the amount of scholarship. Scholarship amount can be adjusted in the Semester I fee payable.
